Expectations

1. Always bring your needed supplies!
2. Always follow all given safety procedures and your own COMMON SENSE.
3. Always be respectful to fellow classmates, their artwork and any guests. 
4. Follow all school given cell phone procedures. Only cell use for reference photos and music is allowed. All other usages will result in a 0 for the day

5. Students must work on their own work and not other students' work; this will be considered a form of plagiarism.
6. Students are expected to clean up after themselves and their work area, everyday.
7. All work created for this class must be school appropriate. If you are worried your work is not appropriate, discuss it with Ms. Chapapas before you create it.

PROCEDURES

Attendance Policy / Signal

  • All students are expected to arrive to class on time and prepared to work. 

  • Excused absences will result in an excused participation grade.

  • LCHS policy mandates that after 10 unexcused absences, students will be given 0s for grades with no allowance for makeup work. 

  • When Ms.Chapapas counts down from 3..., 2..., 1...; you know to give her you attention, because she is trying to teach you.

Hall Passes

  • To leave the classroom, students must have their LCHS agenda and fill out a pass in the pass section and then get a pass signed by Ms. Chapapas

  • Leaving the room without permission will result in disciplinary action.

  • If a student looses their agenda, they may purchase a new one at the activities office for $5. 

Daily Objectives

  • The daily objectives for all lessons are always posted on the white board.

  • Students are expected to read the objectives as they come into class

  • Objectives may remain the same for long projects that span multiple days

  • Ms. Chapapas will announce the objectives at the start of class

  • All instructions are posted on the east chalkboard and accompanied by explanation from Ms. Chapapas

  • The assignment for the day and the unit are always posted on the west chalkboard

  • Homework is turned in to the basket on Ms. Chapapas's 

 Fire Drills and Lockdowns

  • When a fire drill is announced, students will orderly line up and proceed out the entrance door

  • Students will follow C-Hall and take an immediate left out of the entrance door to the outside doors to the parking lot. 

  • Students will line up outside, next to staff cars and wait for Ms. Chapapas to take attendance

  • Students can safely return to class after the third bell. 

  • In the case of a lockdown,LCHS follows ALICE lockdown procedures

  • First, the intercom will announce why a lockdown is taking place. 

    • Students are expected to rush to the nearest room. 

    • Shelter in place occurs first: You may continue teaching during this time, only lock the door. 

  • When lockdown is announced,students will help push tables in front of the entrances

  • Students will arm themselves with heavy objects from the room and prepare in case of an entrance

    • You need to position the students in the  shared closet or near the ground, under the windows. Those are ​the areas safest from gun fire. 

  • When the intercom announces that the lockdown has ended, class will return to normal.
